What is the fastest way to feel good right NOW?

Give.

  • Give something of yourself. Tell your employee or coworker he/she looks nice, or has been helpful to you, or that you admire some quality about them.
  • Order lunch for your whole office...for extra points, do it anonymously!
  • Call a friend or relative you have not seen in a while and say hello and that you were thinking about how important they have been in your life.
  • Contact an elderly person and tell them the same thing…or just ask how they are.
  • Send a card to someone.
  • Contact a help organization and volunteer to spend a day or a week or longer volunteering: trash pickup along a highway, building wilderness trails, Habitat for Humanity, relief trips to foreign countries, working in a soup kitchen or homeless shelter, anything a local church or aid society has going.
  • Give something material or financial. This is easier than giving of yourself.
  • Send flowers to a friend or relative…for no reason or for an occasion or a thankyou.
  • Make a donation to a charity. Do it now. Write the check and MAIL it NOW.
  • Call a local church, shelter, or aid society and ask to donate to a specific family or individual in need.
  • Write off a bill that someone struggling financially owes you.
